Prepare always erases the iPhone.
Level 4.2 is Apple Configurator Supervise, then this profile. That is how Apple unlocks app hides, forced-off Siri / AirDrop, and USB pairing locks. Level 1–3 and Level 4.1 do not require this.
Encrypted Finder backup first. After Prepare, install Level 4 (Mullvad or Quad9). If you also want Lockdown Mode, turn it on after the profile is installed — or have your own MDM push the profile, then enable Lockdown Mode. You own the profile. We cannot see your data.
